Erkan Tatar is the founder and managing partner at NEO-Project.Consulting, a company that provides project management, construction management, management consulting, and other services to clients in various sectors. He has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, working on large-scale projects in Canada, Türkiye, Qatar, and other countries. He is a licensed professional engineer, a certified project management professional, and a member of several professional associations.
Tatar started his career as a civil engineer in Türkiye, where he worked on projects such as the Museum of Islamic Arts in Doha, Qatar, and the Palladium Shopping Mall and Residences in Istanbul, Türkiye. He moved to Canada in 2009 and joined the Toronto Transit Commission as a senior planner for the Sheppard East LRT project. He then worked as a planning and scheduling professional for CH2M HILL, a global engineering firm, and as a planning, scheduling, and risk manager for SNC-Lavalin, a leading infrastructure company. He was involved in the Ottawa Light Rail Project, one of the largest public-private partnerships in Canada.
In 2018, he founded NEO-Project.Consulting with the vision of providing innovative and customized solutions to complex project challenges. He has successfully delivered projects in various domains, such as transportation, energy, health, education, and defence. He has also contributed to the development of project management standards, techniques, and best practices in the industry.
Tatar has a strong academic background, holding a master’s degree in business administration from Yeditepe University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Yildiz Technical University and is fluent in Turkish and English. He is an active member of the Project Management Institute, the Professional Engineers Ontario.
Tatar is married and has two children. He lives in Ottawa, Canada, and enjoys traveling, sailing and reading.
