Recep Güzel is a seasoned software developer with over 20 years of experience in building robust, innovative, and scalable software solutions. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, he specializes in Microsoft technologies including Azure, C#, Machine Learning, and the Entity Framework. Güzel began his career in 2004 at DATAMARKET and quickly rose through the ranks, contributing to companies across Turkey, the Netherlands, and Canada. His portfolio spans high-impact roles at Turkcell Global Bilgi, Digiturk, and most recently as a Software Developer at Smart & Biggar.

In 2018, Recep Güzel joined Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology in Ottawa as a Principal Investigator, where he led applied research initiatives focused on software innovation. Algonquin College, recognized for its strong industry partnerships and commitment to hands-on learning, provided a platform for Güzel to merge academic research with real-world application — particularly in the development of advanced digital tools and intelligent systems. Before joining Smart & Biggar, Recep played a key role at NEO-Project.Consulting, where he helped architect the NEO-Project Toolbox, a powerful Excel-based add-in for project management. As Chief Technology Advisor, he now leads the strategic development of NEO’s innovation suite — including NEO-Project Technical, Reporting, Linear S., and C.AI — advanced tools that enhance scheduling, reporting, and AI-powered insights for the construction industry.

In addition to his technical leadership, Güzel supports businesses in automating workflows and optimizing web services, and regularly mentors junior developers. His work consistently reflects a passion for solving complex problems and delivering tangible impact through technology.
